The one where I love New Look. New Look, New Look, New Look.

The moment I get an email from a store to say that they've got a sale on I am in trouble.  If you've read my blog then you'll know I love to buy from New Look, it's better than Primark and has some cheaper versions of the sort of clothes that you can get in more expensive store like Topshop.  Of course I went onto the New Look website to browse the sale just to see if there was anything on there that I might have been interested in.  Sadly (for my bank balance) I fell in love.

Thick heel, covered foot, comfy looking, bit quirky, I present to you the £19.99 New Look 'suede' heeled boots that, lets be honest, I'm sure everyone now has.  They were reduced by £10 and seemed like the perfect boot to me.  I think they are kind of ugly off, but on my feet they look awesome!  I'm just looking for some lacy ankle socks to buy to go with them.  I must say that I have now worn these twice, once to go to a house party and then again to go out for a meal and I am having comfort issues!  I had such high hopes but these caused blisters on my ankles (my fault for not wearing tights) and sore spots on the bottom of my feet, nevertheless I suspect they will get easier in time.

I have a lovely pussybow blouse already but it has sleeves and I freaking hate sleeves!  Although this blouse is a rather strange colour (orangey pinky and undescribable) I do like it.  It is a bit big and because of the length of the back, I don't feel that it is appropriate to be worn not tucked in.  It was only £6 and I have already worn it (with, of course, a vest underneath!)

I have a lovely navy fitted blazer from H & M but when I saw this for £12 I just had to go for it.  Sadly they only had a size 14 so it is well too big for me, being already quite oversized.  I am hoping to wear it with shorts or a mini skirt and heels as a sort of coat.  The colour is gorgeous too.

I am only just gaining the abilty to wear jumbers, they are not designed for people who get hot easily!  It is now getting quite cold though and this one is nice and loose.  I didn't realise until it arrived in the post that it has sparkly threads running through it.  Usually I would have run a mile at that but I just love the shape so much.  I has massive bat wing arms and then is cropped so it looks really cute with just a simple vest top.  It was only £10 too!

I've seen people on blogs wearing these skirts that are longer at the back and shorter at the front.  I only ever really wear shorts skirt because long ones make me look really stumpy even though I'm 5'5 which isn't that short.  After some consideration I decided to just go for it with this skirt.  It does look a little bit strange worn as a skirt but pulled up to around my ribs and worn with a black vest I think it makes a cute dress.  Any suggestions of how to wear it as a skirt?

The one where it's getting cold, even for me.

I am one of those strange people who get really hot really quickly so I often struggle with wearing wintery clothes even when it is cold. In England it has gone from a shock heatwave to cold, cold weather so I have actually been able to wear a jumper! This one is new and was £10 in the New Look sale. I ordered it online because I love the loose armed but cropped shape but when I received it I was slightly upset to find it has silver threads running through the knit. It is also a dark green rather than a black but after a day of wearing it, I love it!  As you might notice, I've had a mop chop recently.  The hairdresser thought my ombre was dye that had grown out (!) and said that my hair was in such bad condition I needed to have a good few inches off.  I'm not too keen on it but I'm just waiting for it to grow.

The one where I can't resist the spending.

I went into town to get my hair cut today and ended up (as usual) diverting to New Look and Primark.  It is not that I don't like other shops, it's just like I like to have lots of clothes rather than less but more expensive ones.  New Look had a 20% student discount event on too.



I have studs and earrings that dangle but I've realised that I have a defecit of large studs.  These ones came from New Look and cost only £2.99.  The colour is a dark coral and the gold rim is very subtle so they look very tasteful.

These ones are a bit more loud and tacky but then again they do come from the mighty Primark.  They only cost £2 and are a lovely colour.

I've already mentioned this one in previous blog posts but didn't include it in a haul.  It is the primark stag ring to go with the necklace that I already own.  I bought a small which fits perfectly on my ring finger (on the right hand of course).  It was £2 and is a gorgeous statement piece.  It is only the impractical elements of it that let it down.  I managed to stab my hand with it on one occasion and have had a few problems with, for example, dragging clothes off their hangers when trying to put stuff in my wardrobe!

These two rings came in a set from Primark, again for £2.  I think they are really cute and of course this way I can wear the same ring but pick whether I want to wear gold or silver.

It took several sightings of this ring to decide to actually buy it.  I managed to pick a size that fits right on both fingers which I think is pretty crucial when it comes to rings.  After wearing it for an evening I love it.  Although the diamantes are a bit tacky, the 'antique' nature of the gold reduces that.  It was £2.

I know I've talked about how I used to live in vests but those were tank top style vests.  The ones that I've been buying recently are the shoestring style which can be worn under other tops.  The first, second and fifth are from Primark and the others are from New Look.  They all cost around the £2 or £3 mark.

I spotted this top on the way to the till in Primark.  It only cost £4 and although I had to get a size 16 (which I am certainly not) because they didn't have many sizes left, I love it.  It is a very sheer, peach coloured lace top which is perfect to wear over a vest top.  It is possibly one of the girliest  items of clothing I own but what makes you feel more feminine than lace?

This purchase was sort of a continuation of my search for autumn colours.  The dark green is a colour I grew up with, my parents favourite colour, the colour of the carpets at home and all that kind of thing.  I never used to like it but now I really do.  I said that my new Primark bag satisfied my thirst for a new bag but it seemed it didn't.  It was £13 which I really didn't need to spend on a bag but I know I'll use it.

I used to stick to wearing black ballet pumps because that's what I used to wear to school and it's what I have to wear to work.  These £8 pumps from New Look come in several different colours so I snapped up the gorgeous purple colour and some brown ones.  Got my eye on the cream ones too!

The one where I'm as tough as old boots.

This is my new top with my favourite high waisted shorts.  I hardly ever dress up in the day time, the casual look is far more me.  I hoped the tshirt would be more baggy but on closer inspection it is designed to be fitted and infact is almost long enough to be worn as a dress, not that I would ever do this.  How do you like my slightly orange (in this photo) ombred hair?

The one where I've shopped the autumn colours.

I used to be a girl of many colours.  Always bright colours, regardless of the season.  It has changed recently though, I like deeper colours and more subtle shades and the colours that are in the shops this autumn/winter are gorgeous.

I got these high waisted shorts from New Look (of course).  They fit perfectly!  Some people say that high waisted shorts are uncomfortable but (although I'm slim) I love to feel pulled in at the waist.

 I bought these a couple of weeks after the first.  I just love the rust shade and the corduroy material, they are so soft!  I'm not sure about what tops to wear with these though.  What colours go with rust?  Both pairs of shorts were around £20 but I also got a student discount.  I plan to wear shorts through the winter with tights because I get too hot in jeans and find them too uncomfortable.

I hate wearing tshirts, I really struggle with things that cover my shoulder and the top of my arms.  It is very strange I know but it's just how I work.  I want to start wearing baggy tshirts with my new shorts though because I think they look good pulled in.  This is just a brown tshirt with boots on it, from Primark for about £3.  I might cut the sleeves off depending on how it looks on.

I get very hot very easily so I often just wear vest tops and then put a layer or two on top.  This mustard coloured top from New Look was about £12 and I think it will look cute over a vest top or on (slightly risque) nights out, simply paired with shorts.

I never wear scarves but I love the silky material and autumn colours of this scarf from New Look.  There were lots of different colours and patterns, this one has horse riding accessories on it which make up the pattern.  It cost £8 which I was reluctant to pay but I liked it so much I thought I'd treat myself.  Any suggestions for how to wear it would be welcome though!

This £7 Primark bag satisfied my desire for a new bag.  I used to be really 'matchy matchy' about my accessories and if I wore brown boots I had to have a brown bag and vice versa.  I now have brown and black shoes so this bag calms my matching urges!  It is just big enough to hold a notebook or book too so is perfect to take to a lecture.

The one where my obsession with high waists continues.

I wanted some more high waisted shorts and I loved these ones in rust corduroy.  Not sure what colours to pair them with though, I find colours very difficult!  Anything goes with dark blue but it'ss boring to live in denim forever.

My favourite thing about looking at other people's blogs is looking at their outfit photos.  When I was younger I did the whole 'taking photos of myself for Bebo' thing.  Yes Bebo!  Remember that?  I'm not even that old but those days seem like the dark ages.  Anyway when I started my blog I was too camera shy to start taking photo's of myself but now I have decided to bite the bullet and start, afterall it's about the clothes and not me!

I bought all of these items of clothing within the last couple of weeks so they should still be in the shops.  I had been looking for some high-waisted shorts for some time and these ones fit me perfectly so I just had to get them.  A you can see, I've developed a bit of a love affair with New Look.  It's clothes are better quality than Primark's and far more reasonably priced than the likes of Topshop, they also have a great jewellery range.



I had just taken my hair down from a messy bun here which is why it appears to have volume, success!  I'm going to spare you from seeing my face though.

The one where I'm getting into jewellery.

One of the things I really love when reading other people's blogs is looking at their jewellery.  It has taken a while but I am finally starting to develop my own taste for jewellery and actually start wearing it!  I have already posted about a few new pieces I bought but since I've been in my new house I've been shopping a few more times and here is what I bought.

On my first trip to Primarni I bought this stag necklace.  I've seen it (and the matching earrings and ring) on several blogs and vlogs and thought that I couldn't pull off such a large pendant, however I thought it was cute (and it reminded me of the genuine stag's antlers that we have on the wall at home, no joke) so I bought it.  It was only £2 and I've already worn it several times so I am very pleased with that one!

A couple of days later I returned to Primark, looking for the stag earrings, maybe also the ring and some shorts that I didn't have enough money for the first time.  As is the case with Primark there were absolutely none left.  After two days!  I hate how this happens.  But anyway after much searching for the stag jewellery I found some other pieces to buy instead.  I don't usually wear long necklaces but I love this antique gold birdcage pendant and it was only £2.50.

 I have seen envelope pendant necklaces before but couldn't bring myself to spend much on one.  I pondered over this one while in the shop because it is bright 'gold' and quite cheap looking but it's also cute so I thought I could splash a whole £2 on it.

Again I have seen these earrings on blogs and vlogs, I know I have just said that I've developed my own taste in jewellery but blogs and vlogs are just a way to see what's in the shops and what I do and don't like.  I really like the antique gold detailing at the top and although I don't often wear dangling earrings I think these would look good if I wore my hair loose.  They were £2.

I've been on the lookout for some cameo jewellery and although I am not keen on the tacky diamante's around the edge of these earrings, for £1 you can't really complain.

The next shop I visited was New Look and to my delight I found some stag earrings!  They are a brighter gold than the necklace but I wouldn't wear them together anyway so I am very happy.  They were only £2.99 and I got a student discount too.

I've been admiring other people's rings for ages but have never really worn them myself.  My excuse has always been that I don't know what size my fingers are and I hate that feeling when you have to force a ring over your knuckle and then it is loose when it's actually on your finger.  Anyway I have decided that I am over this and here is the first of my collection.  I thought that the butterfly, leaf and 'pearl' detailing is really pretty, as is the pale pink colour of the stone.  It is big but not too big.  After leaving the shop I started to wonder whether it actually is pretty or tacky, let me know any thoughts.  I am planning on keeping it though as it was only £2.99.

So that's it, a nice selection of jewellery to boost my collection and start me off on accessorizing my outfits properly!

The one where I received two parcels.

So in the last couple of days I have received two lovely parcels; one from New Look and one from Forever21.  My New Look order included some basic vests in white, black and rust.  Now really I ordered this for the white and black vests but I am surprisingly drawn to the rust one so I am very pleased!  I also got a cream ruffled top and a chiffon pussy bow blouse to go with my brown skirt and shorts which I shall take a picture of at a later date to show you!  The much awaited riding boots also arrived.  I am still unsure as to whether I should have got brown ones instead of black so I havn't taken the stickers off yet.  I have been doing lots of dressing up to try to find outfits to wear with them, I am worried that they look too much like hooker boots!  I'll keep you posted on that one!

My other parcel was from Forever 21.

These are some of the earrings that I bought.  They are a sort of vintage gold colour with diamantes and as you can see they are in cute little angel wing shapes.  These came in a packet with fake pearls and diamante studs and only cost £2.40 which I thought was excellent.  Sadly my favourite fake pearls got broken at a beer festival that I went to with some of my friends a few weeks ago.  I honestly don't know how but I ended up with only one earring!

This is the necklace that ordered.  It is a little deer that you can have in either silver or gold.  I chose gold as it seems to suit my colouring much better.  I also bought a waist belt, knitted headband and some presents which, again, I am very pleased with.  A very successful online haul!  Good job my parents have gone away so that they can't nag me about just how many parcels I have been receiving!

The one where I pondered the meaning of the aformentioned blog.

So I have spent my day off (from my holiday job at a well known health and beauty store) watching Youtube beauty vlogs and reading various blogs.  I am a shameful girl in that I wear no makeup and until recently have taken very little care over what I wear.  I used to live in a uniform of vests, hoodies and jeans.  This is a product of having a lovely mum who wears no makeup, has short hair and likes to wear fleeces.  Fleeces are (in my opinion) the devil.  What I am trying to say is that there is no way I can be a beauty blogger when I use no beauty products and stopped taking photos of myself at the age of 16!  Once I work out how to blog with photos I vow to try to include some photos of my favourite outfits though and we shall see which direction this blog takes.

As I am currently on holiday from university I am earning lots of money and doing some very naughty internet shopping.  I have recently bought some brown chinos, shorts and brogues so I have been buying lots of floaty creamy tops to go with them and that will hopefully be suitable for teaching placement.  I am currently waiting for a New Look order to arrive.  New Look in my university town is a fair walk away from the main shops and my ex's ex works there which (stupidly) put me off however I find loads of great things online so when I go back to university I will try and go there more.  One of the items I am waiting for are some riding style boots.  Now I have been wanting a pair since last winter, a girl from my course who has a Youtube channel (and who doesn't know that I watch it) had some great ones in loads of OOTDs and New Look finally put some new season ones online.  I choose black because my sheepskin boots (not UGGs but Sketchers ones which are just as good if not better) are brown.  Fingers crossed they will suit me!

I am also waiting on a parcel from Forever21 which I only discovered the other day through beauty vlogs.  I have ordered a few pieces of gold jewellery including an owl watch necklace for my best friend from university who last year gave me loads of clothes that she had grown out of.  I had a bit of a moral dilema about whether to give her money for them or whether she would feel offended but my mum suggested I get her a present instead so here we go!

My day and indeed holiday has been full of music too.  My favourite band of the moment are Twin Atlantic.  I have never been so attracted to the Scottish accent in my life!  Check them out if you like indie music.  I saw them at 2000 Trees Festival (which was awesome) and fell in love with them!  I say check them out as though someone is actually reading this but I really doubt they are.  If anyone happens to stumble across me (I still don't really know how this works) please feel free to leave a comment to reassure me that I am not alone in the world!
